How much the US visa costs and what you need

There are two separate costs when applying for a US visa, and I like you to have them clear before we start: the fee paid to the consulate and my personal support. Here I explain each one, the requirements, and the documents — no fine print.

How much does the US visa cost?

There are two separate costs in the process, and it helps not to confuse them:

  • Official consular fee: approx. $3,300 MXN (~$185 USD) [verify, varies with the exchange rate]. It's paid directly to the consulate, not to Mr Consul, and it's mandatory for every applicant.
  • Mr Consul support: $700 MXN for the full process (first-time visa or renewal). This is my fee for working your case from start to finish.

Requirements for the US visa

These are the general requirements the consulate asks for the B1/B2 tourist visa. The fine details vary by case, and I confirm them when I review your profile:

  • Valid Mexican passport (not about to expire). If you don't have one or it's expiring soon, I can help you get it too.
  • DS-160 form completed and error-free — we fill it out together, field by field.
  • Photograph that meets the consulate's specifications [verify current size and format].
  • Proof of the consular fee payment.
  • Proof of your ties to Mexico (job, business, property, family): this carries the most weight with the consul.

Age rules: is there always an interview?

Not every applicant goes through an in-person interview. In general, children under 14 and people 80 or older may qualify for a process without an interview, depending on the consulate's current rules [verify current rules].

Between 14 and 79, attending the interview is the norm. If that's your case, I prepare you so you arrive calm and know what they might ask.

What does my $700 MXN support include?

  • Complete DS-160 filing
  • Booking your appointment at the consulate
  • Personalized coaching for your interview
  • WhatsApp support throughout the whole process
  • Personalized review of your profile

Before charging you, I review your profile. If I see your case has a high risk of denial, I tell you honestly — I'd rather do that than charge you for something that isn't right for you yet.

Frequently asked

How much does the US visa cost in total?

There are two separate payments: the official consular fee, approx. $3,300 MXN (~$185 USD) [verify, varies with the exchange rate], which you pay directly to the consulate; and my support at $700 MXN for the full process. I don't charge the consular fee — that goes straight to the embassy.

Why does the consular fee change price?

Because it's set in US dollars and charged in pesos at the day's exchange rate. That's why I always give you the approximate amount and we confirm it when booking your appointment.

What documents do I need for the visa?

The basics: a valid Mexican passport, the completed DS-160, a photo that meets the specifications, and proof of your ties to Mexico. When I review your case I build the exact list for your situation.

Do children and older adults also go to the interview?

In many cases, children under 14 and people 80 or older may qualify for a process without an in-person interview, depending on the consulate's current rules [verify]. Between 14 and 79, attending is the norm. I confirm it when I review your profile.

Do you guarantee I'll get the visa?

Nobody can guarantee approval — the final decision is the consul's. What I do guarantee is that you'll arrive prepared, with your DS-160 error-free and knowing what to say. If I see high risk, I tell you before charging you.
